Band-Maid vs Rest of the World

Few days ago looking for new music on YouTube, I found this new band called Band-Maid. They were there, among the recommendations since a couple of days, didn’t want to click because I though it was some kind of Emo band copying Paramore, and I don’t know many band with girl singer (Evanescene, Garbage, Guano Apes, Lacuna Coil, Metric, Arch Enemy…I think that’s it). But they were Asians, so I finally tried.

After 10 seconds I was shocked, after 30 I fell in love.
Then I thought, no, they are amazing but no way they can play all of these live same as studio. Exactly, they don’t, THEY DO MUCH BETTER!

Band-Maid are five Japanese girls, the band is all female but they can put on shame 95% of male bands nowadays. As I said, live they are just incredible (and I wouldn’t mind fly to Japan just to see them), but why this band is so special? Because every group member, besides their authentic talent, is on the same level, they are not a singer focused band as pretty much every band in the globe. Miku is the group founder, second guitar and second voice and the one who always talks on the interviews, while Saiki is the first voice. But during live shows we can enjoy Kanami’s guitar, absolutely out of this world, Akane’s drums, always smiling while playing which almost makes me cry of happiness when I see her, because there’s nothing better than love what you do. Last but not least, MISA, the bass guitar, we all know that bass guitar is sadly considered the less important instrument for a rock band, well, Band-Maid has also destroyed this stereotype, MISA, often plays amazing solos that I personally never seen in other much more famous (male) rock bands around the world.

Very well known in Japan now, they still need to conquer the West. The only problem is that nowadays this kind of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal is not much listened by new generations, which prefer other genres (hip-hop, trap, reggaeton, commercial…sadly, all rubbish), maybe 15/20 years ago they would have really conquered the world. To proof my theory, we can check on YouTube many people commenting under their videos, a lot of them are middle age people completely in love and addicted by Band-Maid.

ROCK IS NOT DEAD, AND AN ALL FEMALE JAPANESE BAND IS SAVING IT!

PS1 As you can imagine, the name of the band is comeing from their look. Band...MAID
PS2 You would not be able to see two of the videos here, just watch on YouTube.
PS3 Sorry for my English :)
